The fund seeks to provide long-term capital growth by replicating, to the extent possible, the performance of the S&P 500 Index, net of expenses.
The index is a market capitalization-weighted index of securities of 500 of the largest U.S. public issuers provided by S&P, hedged to Canadian dollars.
The investment strategy of XUS is to invest primarily in shares of a U.S. iShares Fund that seeks investment results that correspond generally to the applicable index.
