The fund seeks to provide long-term capital growth by replicating, to the extent possible, the performance of the S&P/TSX Capped Consumer Staples Index through investments in the constituent issuers of such index, net of expenses.
The Index is comprised of securities of Canadian consumer staples sector issuers listed on the TSX, selected by Standard & Poor's using its industrial classifications and guidelines for evaluating issuer capitalization, liquidity and fundamentals.
The Index is well diversified across various sub-sectors and the relative weight of any single index constituent is capped at 25%.
The major sub-sectors are: food retail, drug retail and packaged foods & meats.
